Super adjustment layer in Manga Studio 5

Description

Super adjustment layer technique
My latest favorite trick when painting.....
1) Add a layer above the rest of the picture ... and fill it with an exact mid gray (red 126 green 126 blue 126) and set the layer to Overlay mode
2) at Mid gray on an Overlay layer has zero effect on the image.
3) now you can use the range of dodge and burn tools that I supply fav.me/d6o1oj1 or other tools of your own to add enhanced shadows , highlights and contouring onto that adjustment layer . you can also place color tints and you can burn textures and canvas into that one multi-purpose adjustment layer.
4) if the shadows are too harsh you can use blending tools
5) you can adjust the amount of effect by adjusting the layer opacity or you can downgrade the effect in specific areas by painting on them with a soft low opacity brush set to Transparent
6) and the whole thing is non destructive ... your original painting or photograph remains unaltered
7) The technique is also good in preserving 100% Blacks and Whites
... all with just one layer ( or if you want you can add a few of the and put different effects on different layers).

Thanks you, sir (or Ma'am!); this sounds like just what I need. I've been doing comic book style coloring (cut&grad) but things are coming out a tad bright. I would like to have a non-destructive means to reduce Saturation/Brightness non-destructively.

You should post this on "Runtime DNA > Manga Studio 5 Forum". I'm sure lotsa folks would love to hear this too... Thanks again!
